The mission of Leadership In Progress is to provide individuals with the opportunity to develop the skills, insight and networks to be more effective leaders.

Business, government and the voluntary sector have the opportunity to learn from, and network with, current leaders, offering participants and sponsors a unique cross-sectoral perspective.

It is a leadership experience that goes beyond the simple acquisition of information, knowledge and skills, building leadership capacity in a "hands on" environment. The program builds on talents and resources that already exist by turning the community into the classroom.

The program is building a sense of community trusteeship and developing networks with a common commitment to strengthening communities in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Core Objectives

• To enhance the personal leadership skills of emerging community leaders.
• To provide an interactive learning opportunity to understand the diversities, complexities and issues within communities.
• To develop networks of leaders.
• To stimulate investment in the development of emerging community leaders.
