The Community Sector Council NL is excited to be publishing the first-ever directory of nonprofit groups on the Burin Peninsula, as a part of the Burin Peninsula Voluntary Clusters Project.

Shape Up or Ship Out – CSC hosts board governance workshop in Marystown

The Community Sector Council NL’s Burin Peninsula Voluntary Clusters Project recently sponsored a session on board governance in Marystown. The workshop, “Shape Up or Ship Out” Sound Governance for Strong Organizations, was delivered to board members and staff of nonprofit, community groups from the Burin Peninsula on November 16th.

Burin Peninsula Regional Volunteer Appreciation Reception Wrap-up

It was a packed house at the Regional Volunteer Appreciation Reception in Garnish on April 22. Over 200 people from across the Burin Peninsula turned out on this evening dedicated to volunteers. Darin King, MHA for Grand Bank District brought greetings from himself and on behalf of Clyde Jackman, MHA for Burin-Placentia West District.

Organizations connect through the Burin Peninsula Voluntary Clusters Project
(December 4, 2009)
The Burin Peninsula Voluntary Clusters Project, an initiative of Community Services Council Newfoundland and Labrador, held its first open gathering on Saturday, November 28th. More than 50 people across the Peninsula came together to share information, create awareness about their organizations, and learn tips about recruiting and retaining volunteers.
