The Community Services Council Newfoundland and Labrador (CSC)is an independent voluntary organization dedicated to promoting social and economic well-being. CSC is a registered charity under the direction of a 18-member Board of Directors.

Executive

President: Barbara Barry
Life-long volunteer, including seven years elected school board member, St. John's; 10+ years St. John's Women's Network Chairperson; president of a union local; member, St. John's Board of Trade and Destination St. John's. Work has encompassed health, business, technology and marketing. Currently owner of a local event planning and marketing company: http://www.astepaheadeventplanningmarketing.com.

Vice President: Jim Hickey
Certified Financial Planner; Owner, Jim Hickey Ent. Ltd; former Director, Fortune Bay East Development Association; Instructor, College of the North Atlantic; Financial Advisor, Assante Capital.

Treasurer: Shelley Martin, CA
Faculty of Business Administration, MUN

Secretary: Libby Crawford
Board Member, College of Licensed Practical Nurses; Retired civil servant: formerly Director of Community Relations, Health and Community Services (liaised with the various volunteer and community groups dealing with the department).

Dawn Chafe
Editor, Atlantic Business Magazine; in 2004, named one of the top five editorial writers in Canada by Canadian Business Press; in 2007, won Bronze, Best Editorial category of the Tabbies, an international business press competition. Chair, Atlantic Journalism Awards; former Mayor, Town of Petty Harbour/Maddox Cove; founder and former Chair, Petty Harbour/Maddox Cove Development Corporation.

Lynn Green
President, Learning Disabilities Association NL; Vice President, Learning Disabilities Association of Canada; Member, Ministerial Advisory Committee on Student Support Services, Department of Education; Director, Baine Johnston Corporation.

Gail Gosse
Over 30 years in adult education; currently Program Developer, MUN’s Division of Lifelong Learning; former Campus Administrator, College of the North Atlantic Prince Philip Drive Campus; former Chair, Regional Steering Committee for the Strategic Social Plan, Northeast Avalon; former Executive Member, Northeast Avalon Regional Economic Development Board; current Member and Past President of Rotary.

Ed Hayden
Director, Policy Planning and Evaluation Division, Department of Human Resources, Labour and Employment; previously Manager, Regional Partnerships, Strategic Social Plan.

Janet Henley
Practised law with Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales until 2003, primarily as a litigator; volunteer experience has included 20 years on the Board of NONIA, 10 years on the Discipline Committee of the Law Society of NL, founding Director of St. Bonaventure's College Inc.; former Director, Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission.

Janet Lilly
