Campaign 2000 Report Card on Poverty to be released with screening of Four Feet Up, a documentary portraying child poverty in Canada |

Each year, CSC and partners across Canada mark the 1989 all party motion
to eradicate child poverty. Twenty years later, we have not nearly attained that goal.
At noon on November 24th at the MacMorran Community Centre, Penelope
Rowe will release Campaign 2000's 2009 National Report Card on Child and
Family Poverty, prior to a screening of the documentary Four Feet Up.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Nance Ackerman, Four Feet Up is an intimate portrayal of child poverty in Canada told from the perspective of 8-year old Isaiah, who is trying hard to grow up healthy, smart and well-adjusted despite the odds stacked against him. Join Vibrant Communities St. John's for a screening of this touching experience of child poverty in one of the richest countries in the world. The film will begin at 12:30pm. | Peer Mentoring in the Charitable Sector | ||||||

The Atlantic Charities Learning Exchange ACLE is recruiting mentors in the charitable sector - persons or organizations willing to assist other charities with annual reporting to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). ACLE was designed by CSC and its partners throughout Atlantic Canada to raise awareness among small and rural Atlantic charities of compliance problem areas under the Income Tax Act. The session will:
The St. John's session on November 26 is one of five Atlantic Canada planning meetings in November 2009 among small and rural registered charities.
