Labrador West Status of Women Council
What the Labrador Status of Women's Center has to Offer Women
Services offered in a "Women-Friendly" drop in environment
- Individual and group short and long term supportive counseling
- Supportive Counseling and referral for women in crisis, single mothers, senior care, sexual harassment/assault, senior women, women's health issues, child care, family dating violence and discrimination
- Outreach-general information sessions, Education-Knowing your rights
- Entitlements to property during separation, Savings and Investments and Pensions etc...
- Referrals to other agencies-e.g..Legal Aid, Social Service Supports, Mental Health, Employment Services, NL Housing and Court Systems, Service Canada and Family Justice
- Information Resources: Library and Films
- Space and Support for Self-Help Groups
- Advocacy and Lobbying to promote the Status of Women
- Liaise with other Community Agencies
- Hope Haven, Local Food Bank, Family Resource Center, Social Services
